Guarantee Policy

1. Quality Assurance

All parts supplied by Modern Auto Parts are manufactured to high standards, ensuring maximum safety under various climatic conditions. Occasionally, replacement parts may differ slightly in appearance from the original components removed from a vehicle. These differences often reflect improvements in design and functionality, ensuring equal or superior performance compared to the parts being replaced.

Modern Auto Parts supplies new parts only. We do not sell used or second-hand components.

2. Guarantee Terms

We offer a 12-month guarantee from the date of purchase against defects arising from faulty materials or workmanship. This guarantee does not cover:

  • Defects resulting from normal wear and tear.
  • Damage due to neglect or accidental causes.
  • Consequential personal injury, damage, or loss resulting from misuse or incorrect installation of our products.

This guarantee becomes void if the product has been modified, misused, or used outside of its intended application.

3. How to Submit a Guarantee / Warranty Claim (Claim Procedure)

Guarantee/warranty claims must be submitted for assessment. The part may be inspected, tested, and/or referred to the supplier/manufacturer for evaluation before any outcome can be confirmed.

All warranty claims require a completed Warranty Assessment Claim Form. You can download the form here: Modern Auto Parts Warranty Assessment Claim Form (PDF) .

Before submitting any claim: please ensure you have read, understood, and complied with any warning remarks on your invoice (front side, bottom left corner), if applicable.

To lodge a claim, you must complete the form and provide the required supporting documents.

Required documents (mandatory):

  • Completed Warranty Assessment Claim Form ( download PDF here )
  • Invoice copy / proof of purchase (must be attached).
  • Job card / proof of fitment (attach a copy of the job card).
  • A clear photo of the vehicle’s licence disc (must accompany the claim form).

Information required on the claim form (minimum):

  • Customer/workshop name and contact details.
  • Modern Auto Parts invoice number and invoice date.
  • Part details: description, brand, part number (and size where applicable).
  • Vehicle details: make, model, year, engine/code.
  • Odometer reading at overhaul/fitment and current odometer reading (refer to job card).
  • Reason for work done and any parts replaced/repairs/machine work completed.
  • Full claim description (describe the fault in detail and the conditions under which it occurred).
  • Your preference if successful: Replacement or Refund (as indicated on the form).

Once we receive the completed form and documents, we will advise the next steps, including return/assessment instructions. Please note that submission of a claim does not automatically constitute an approval.

4. Disclaimer

Incorrect installation of parts can lead to serious damage or personal injury. We strongly recommend that all parts be fitted by a qualified automotive technician at an accredited workshop, following the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.

Important installation guidelines:

  • Parts supplied with a grease nipple must be greased prior to installation.
  • Ball pins should be tested for free movement before installation.
  • Parts supplied with bolts and nuts must be securely fastened/torqued according to the correct OEM specifications.

Failure to adhere to these instructions may result in damage or personal injury, for which the manufacturer and distributor cannot be held responsible.

Please ensure that the correct part has been supplied by comparing it to the original component removed from the vehicle. If an incorrect part is installed without prior verification, we will not be liable for any claims or credits, as the part will be considered used and cannot be returned.

Important: Modern Auto Parts is not responsible for any damages or failures arising from installation by third-party mechanics or unqualified individuals. All installations must be carried out by qualified professionals in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.

No other warranties, expressed or implied, are provided, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The guarantee only covers manufacturing defects under the conditions specified above.

5. Governing Law

This guarantee shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this guarantee shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
